I, Myles Byrne, was the Liaison Officer for the above Owners Corporation during 9 months of rectification work on our 5 unit building which was the result of a successful claim on our Home Owners Warranty Insurance. The insurer appointed Craig Victor of Victor Building Services Pty Ltd to do the agreed work and I now am very pleased to list the many benefits that arose from that appointment:-

Before the work commenced in June 2010 a professionally prepared contract in plain English from the builder’s office staffer Karen was presented to the Executive of the Owners Corporation. There was no hesitation in signing the contract as all details were clearly detailed and understood.

As the building work proceeded I was kept informed of what was happening at every stage. This was very important as it enabled me to keep the other owners aware of when their units should be opened and made available to the builder and his workers.

At two stages during the work the builder recognised other defects which had not been listed and so alerted me; this resulted in a successful variation to the works and a second successful claim with the insurer. This saved the Owners Corporation a lot of time and money further down the track.

The builder Craig Victor and/or his Supervisor Steve were on-site regularly and supervised all work done by the trades. They were always ready to speak with me and answer any questions raised with respect and patience. I was most impressed with the professionalism of all the trades in that they did their work with a high regard for the premises and personal contents contained therein. Groundsheets were always in place to avoid damage to floors and carpets and to reduce the amount of dust and debris that inevitably accompanies any rectification work. All trades cleaned up after their day’s work thus enabling owners to return to their units with minimal disruption.

Any emails sent to the builder’s office relating to Invoice approvals or other paperwork were always answered and dealt with efficiently by the staff member Karen either the same day or within 24 hours. This saved an enormous amount of time for me.

I found Craig Victor and all the workers of Victor Building Services Pty Ltd to be highly professional, polite and friendly in all their dealings in completing the rectification work successfully and I would have no hesitation in recommending the company to any other person or organisation.
